The Ace of Wands emerges from the depths of a black hole, a cell, a diaphragm... or more literally from a sleeve, with the radiant power of an incandescent torch. As the allegorical counterpart to the Ace of Swords, the Ace of Wands is the burning symbol of our manifestations. The thick central branch displays the dark green of a receptive nature. Its activity spontaneously spreads outward through ignition. The Ace of Wands is both a torch and a log, a club and a mace, a brush in full action and a blood-filled phallus. Five tips vibrate with animalistic and active intelligence. Each flaming nub is at once a greedy mouth and a prodigious orifice discharging fertilizing lava. At the top and to the right, a yellow protrusion mimics a six-toothed blade. Whether a pocket knife or a lumberjack's saw, its active intelligence heralds the imminent arrival of swords: the ultimate link between matter and spirit. Surrounding it, 29 flames spread warmth and light across 3/4 of the dial. The remaining quarter is occupied by a hand emerging from a vibratory organic sleeve, its flesh soaked in spirit and intelligence. An authentic "Deus ex machina," it establishes a symbolic link between dreams and their realization, between fertilization and birth... between origin and destination.
