How to Use

Everything you need to know to start working with the Tikkoun Tarot de Marseille — from formulating your question to interpreting the arcana.

The Tikkoun Tarot de Marseille is not a divination tool in the magical sense. It is a formal symbolic alphabet: 22 letters (major arcana), 56 anthologies (minor arcana), 22 houses and 7 levels of consciousness as grammar. Not to predict — to learn to read where you are.

How to Perform a Reading

1

Prepare your space

Choose a quiet moment. Place the deck on a clean surface. Take a few deep breaths to centre your attention. The inner state of the querent influences the quality of the reading.

2

Formulate your question

The quality of the answer depends on the clarity of the question. Avoid closed questions (yes/no). Prefer open formulations: “What would help me better understand…” or “What energy should I activate to…”

3

Shuffle the cards

Shuffle the deck while keeping your question in mind. There is no “right way” to shuffle — intention and concentration are what matters. Stop when you feel the moment is right.

4

Draw the cards

Choose cards intuitively according to the type of spread chosen. Lay them face down first, then turn them over one by one, observing each before reading.

5

Interpret the message

First observe each arcanum individually, then the relationships between them. Let the overall impression emerge before analysing. The true meaning is often the one that “resonates” immediately.

Essential questions

Tarot does not predict a fixed future. It reveals present energies and probable tendencies if nothing changes. You always remain free in your choices — Tarot is a tool of awareness, not fatality.

The majors (22 cards) speak of the great universal energies and fundamental stages of evolution. The minors (56 cards) illustrate everyday and concrete situations across the 4 life domains.

No. Reading Tarot is learned, like any symbolic language. Intuition deepens with practice. Our courses guide you step by step through this learning.

There is no formal limit, but wisdom advises against “over-questioning” the same subject. A reading reveals the energy of the moment — it gains meaning with reflection time between two consultations.

Yes, provided you have the person’s consent. Reading for others does however require some experience, addressed in the Expert and Master modules.
